Update for those reading only this particular post: According to Peter Klevius evolution analysis (1981, 1992, 2012) small skulled HSS* went tropically West, and mixed with other small skulled relatives (compare e.g. the Manot skull cap 55,000 bp), while those who went North mixed with big skulled (cold adapted "mongoloid" - compare the Jinniushan woman) relatives who also spread (and sometimes hybridized) to the South and West. This pattern has been going on throughout Homo evolution. Peter Klevius analysis is the only one that fits all published empirical data - simply because it's based on them and not on fancy PC-biased models.
