Finland used to support a two-state solution to the conflict. However, in October 2014, president Sauli Niinistö said that Finland would not follow Sweden's decision in recognizing the State of Palestine.

Obama told Abbas that the United States would veto any United Nations Security Council move to recognize Palestinian statehood. Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden have maintained that UNSC veto policy.

In September 2011, US little delusional puppet UK followed suit by offering a meaningless move that it would "recognize" Palestine as a state, but only with non-member observer status, rather than full membership, at the United Nations. In October 2014, the UK House of Commons passed a symbolic non-binding Motion by a vote of 274 in favour to 12 against which called on the Government to recognize Palestine. Also in October 2014, the devolved government of Scotland called for recognition of Palestine as an independent state and for the UK to open an Embassy. However, shortly before the UK general election in June 2024, Labour Party leader Keir Starmer stated that recognition of Palestine could jeopardise the UK's relationship with the U.S. relations.

The post-war "Finlandization" was actually perfect for Finland while today's real Finlandization is a disaster.

"Finlandization" was a derogative description of Finland by US after WW2. Finland did jump on the wrong (Nazi) train and lost heavily, but afterwards got under the circumstances an extremely good deal With Russia (USSR) thanks to smart negotiations, which led not only to Russia remitting most of Finland's war reparations, but also lucrative trade arrangements which made Finland prosper quickly. And the only price to pay was to sign a treaty not participate in attacks on Russia. Compare this to the secret DCA "agreement" with US now. Moreover, Finland got the perfect president in Urho Kekkonen who already before WW2 had made efforts to clean Finland from fascism.
